ARCOのTOEFLの問題集(8th edition)で分からないもがあったので、誰か解説お願いできないでしょうか。
(Many) people say that California is (a State) of (geographic remarkable) (deversity).という問題です。
一応、本に載っていた解説は以下の通りです。読んでも納得できませんでしたので。
答えは3つめがおかしい。
Reversed Words. The correct phrase is "of remarkable geographic diversity." The adjective "remarkable" comes before the adjective "geographic." Both of these adjectives descrive the noun "diversity."
だそうです。
副詞の後、形容詞にするとかなら納得できるのですが、2つとも同じ形容詞で、後ろの名詞をそれぞれ修飾しているとしたら、なぜ、順番を入れ替えなくてはいけないのでょうか。
私の答えとしては、最後の4つ目を複数形にしてみたのですが。
理由としては、冠詞がついていなかったので。
